Also known as Deabong which means 'large mountain' in Chinese characters, Hachiya are a decadent fruit with a smooth and hearty sweetness. Organic Hachiya persimmons, are larger than the Fuyu variety, and unlike Fuyu, Hachiya are always eaten only after they become almost liquid soft inside. Once ripe they become soft, and can be opened up and scooped out and eaten with a spoon. They are truly a delicacy in Korea and often given as gifts or enjoyed the the family over the holidays.

Our Hachiyas are hand picked with care and all certified organic. Once you receieve your Hachiyas, make sure you allow them to become fully ripe - once they are orange in color and soft to the touch all the way around. If they are not soft and jelly like, just wait! When not ripe enough, the fruit will be astringent and not ready yet to be consumed.
